Flax Naturally/Milled Flaxseed 24oz is available by Heartland Products.
Heartland Products, Inc uses a unique and proprietary method for milling the flax. This Real Cold Milled process helps to preserve the oils when milling the seed. The oil stays in the finely milled pieces, but runs out when pounded or ground. Flax seed must be milled into a flour or meal to get maximum benefits of the omega-3 oil and dietary fiber. This unique Real Cold Milled process does not grind, crush or liberate oil like other processes, making our Real Cold Milled flax unique. ? Flax Seed has a high ratio of linolenic (omega-3) to linoleic (omega-6) fatty acids. While many other plant seeds contain omega-6 fats, flax seed is the only grain that contains the highest levels of the essential omega-3 fats. ? Flax Seed oil is the richest source of OMEGA-3 fatty acid, alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), an ESSENTIAL FATTY ACID (EFA). Your body requires EFA‘s and must derive all of them from the diet. The average American diet is sorely lacking in this healing EFA. ? Flax seed is unique. Forty-eight percent of it?s total fat content is omega-3 fatty acid. Omega-3 fatty acids are necessary for proper infant growth and development, especially for the formation of a healthy nervous system, and to help keep it functioning properly. ? Flax Seed is an outstanding source of many essential nutrients, including: proteins, carbohydrates, minerals, folate, vitamin B-6, pantothenic acid, magnesium, potassium, iron, thiamine, copper, zinc, calcium and phosphorus. Flax seed also appears to have anti-inflammatory properties.
