1. Taken for symptoms due to bone marrow suppression as caused by chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Helps offset side effects from pharmaceuticals such as AZT, DHPG, anti-tumor agents, and other drugs that suppress white blood cells or red blood cells, e.g., chemotherapy for leukemia.
2. May also be used for various anemias, to help regenerate blood following a blood transfusion
3. Used for chronic pain and numbness
